Welcome to Teresa Carter Photography! I am a natural light photographer in Portland Oregon specializing in on-location and custom photography of maternity, newborns, babies, children and families in.

As a Portland photographer I specially love taking photography of newborn, babies, toddlers and children because of their natural innocence. As a mother myself, I am also aware of how quickly our children grow especially during the first year of their life. It's very fulfilling for me to make it possible for people who believe in my work to have the memories for a lifetime in their hands.

I do both indoor and outdoor portraits as you can see on my portfolio.For outdoors, I usually insists on using natural lighting and surrounding for my portraits to bring nice vivid colors to my photos. Lately though, I have been enjoying doing a lot of indoor sessions because of the weather. With indoor photography I can be able to do sessions the whole year round. I love it that I can control more my lighting. What I also love about it is that it's really great for very young babies because of their need to be changed and fed in betwen sessions.

As a mother of three children and a Photographer who does every aspect of my business, from photography, to web design and updates, post processing of all images, delivery and accounting, it's challenging for me to write in a regular basis. But I will try my best to share some recent sessions at least every week or maybe more often when I can. Also in this blog, I will post any ongoing promotions I am offering.

FREE maternity, newborn, and engagement or couples sessions (FOR NEW CLIENTS ONLY!)

Yes, this is your chance to get a 2 hour session FREE of charge (note that we only offer a limited number of free sessions per month and only on limited locations - call us for more details). Receive for free 10 web quality files in a CD. You have no obligation to purchase anything after the session. However, there is a $100 minimum order to process an order. Please contact Teresa to see if you qualify for the FREE session. Very few slots left for December for the holidays!

Pregnancy or maternity photography needs to be scheduled in the last trimester of your pregnancy. Baby or newborn portraits are best if the session occurs within 4 weeks of birth. Less than 7 days old is even better because they are usually asleep and they still don't have those baby acne or rashes. Newborn and maternity sessions will normally be held indoors but engagement or couples sessions can be held either indoors or outdoors. For indoors, I will set up a portable studio with lighting and backdrop and some props such as baskets and rugs will be available for the newborn. Variety of backdrop colors available too.

HOST A PORTRAIT PARTY !

Do you have a space on your home where we can set up a portable studio and host a party? This has to be done on a weekend. Host family might want to serve some refreshments during the party. Minimum 4 guest families required. Maximum of 8 families. Each guest and the host family will have a mini session of 20 to 30 minutes each. Booking in advance is requiired for each family at least a week before the party. There's no session fee for portrait parties but there is a required $35 non-refundable deposit that will be applied as print credit. Host family does not pay for deposit. About 10 photos will be edited for each family. Galleries with about 10 to 15 photos for each family, including the host family will be posted online within 2 weeks from party date. Host will receive a print credit of 20% of the party's sales and receives 2 FREE prints in 8 x 10.
